It’s From Scratch Farm’s 3-year anniversary!!!
And I’m going to give you a peek into the business… and a great deal!
First, I’m Amy. I’m 41, the mom of two awesome boys. I’m also a children’s portrait photographer. I’ve been single for the past year. I love to cook and bake. Love animals and kids. I’ve completed nine half-marathons, want to do one more. My favorite places are home, work, and the beach. Music, kind people, and good food fill my cup. I hate clutter, rudeness, and bad drivers. I never leave the house without lipstick, our lip balm, my thermos of water, and a camera. My roombas make my day. I love supporting local businesses. I drive a truck. Good friendships and great dinner parties mean the world to me. Away from the norm, I don’t drink wine or coffee… and Blue October and Barenaked Ladies are my favorite bands. And last, I love the products that I sell. It matters that they’re made with natural ingredients in my kitchen. It matters that they work, I can stand behind them, and that people enjoy them. That’s Ben and Evan, a 13-year-old who is going into 8th grade and an 8-year-old going into second grade. Their interests are similar- military tanks and weaponry, Legos, minecraft, photography, chickens, hanging out with friends. Ben loves riding his bike (and has been a pro at it since he was little). Evan just let my parents buy his first big bike (and thankfully, he’s getting the hang of it pretty quickly). We’ve made it a tradition of having dinner as a picnic in the living room, complete with popcorn, every time we watch America’s Got Talent. They also love America’s Funniest Home Videos. They love eating almost all of my cooking. They love camping and road trips. 4-H and Scouts are a big part of their lives.
Right now, we have three adult hens- Brownie (pictured above), Caramel, and Ms. Teaberry. We have a teenager- Monica (I believe she just started laying eggs yesterday!!!). And we have two babies- Rachel and Phoebe. But I’m pretty sure Phoebe is starting to try to crow, so I think we’ll need to find *him* a new home. Oops!
Our products are lip balms, healing salves, body scrubs, and laundry detergents. We also sell postcards made with cute pictures of our chickens. And we have t-shirts in stock, in several designs.
