TRAVEL TEXAS (Son’s Island)

I had fallen in love with the place just through photos on instagram.  So I couldn't wait to go.  Made reservations for Mother's Day, invited my parents, and planned the weekend.   The island is a 3.5 acre island in the middle of Lake Placid in Seguin.  An easy-access spot right off of I-10, you get to the island by driving over a one-lane wooden bridge, check into your reservation,…

TRAVEL TEXAS (The Jersey Barnyard)

This was our third visit to The Jersey Barnyard, and it was still a little bit of a magical experience!   Yes, the drive is long.  And it can get a little dirty.  But where else can you enjoy all these cute farm animals, eat some Blue Bell ice cream, shop, and bottle-feed a calf and/or milk a cow?!  (And honestly, wouldn't you expect to have to watch your step…

TRAVEL TEXAS (Sea World San Antonio)

Even though this isn't a typical Travel Texas article, and we really didn't have to travel far to Sea World, I thought it should be highlighted for anyone that is looking for a cool travel destination.  And if you're an animal-lover like us, you'll want the scoop on these opportunities. TRAVEL TEXAS (Christmas Edition: Waco)

TRAVEL TEXAS (Christmas Edition: The Farmhouse at Stoney Hill Ranch)

I discovered and enjoyed another airbnb gem, nestled in some farmland just outside of Waco! Holiday Magic Festival of Lights!

The boys and I made the trek from Boerne to Retama Park last night.  After the adventure of the late-5:00 traffic through north San Antonio, we spent the evening enjoying the beautiful weather and festival! Most of the event had transformed the parking lot and surrounding grounds into a magical winter wonderland! A large part of it was the lantern and lights display... dozens of unique and colorful sculptures made…

Travel Texas (The Texas Bell Glamping)

A birthday trip made in heaven! My best friend (Myk) and I arrived at The Texas Bell on Thursday afternoon.  We were greeted by the wonderful husband and wife team (Jess and Leslie) with a tour of the tent and the grounds.  We did a little girly decorating (flowers and flamingos).  We mixed a few drinks.  And then Myk cooked up a wonderful dinner over the camp fire.    …

Our Beach Vacation!!!!!

I totally overposted this past week!  (sorry)  But I also got lots of messages, asking questions about our trip.  So I thought I'd blog about the experience, itinerary, and my little secret tips.
