Get Ready for Valentine’s Day!!! (or a Galentine’s Get-Together)

💗 If you didn’t see my social media posts on Sunday, here’s a quick review:

I formulated, whipped, tested, and thoroughly enjoyed my first body butter.  So I moved to get it on my shelves.  And I added it to some new gift sets!

1- We now carry body butter!  {insert happy dance}  I printed 50 limited edition milk chocolate labels, just for Valentine’s Day.  When they’re gone, they’re gone.  But after that, I’ll carry soothing lavender all year round.

2- I thought the chocolate body butter would pair perfectly with my rose products, so I created a few gift sets just in time for the day of love!
XOXO contains our face mist and body butter, for $50
BE MINE contains our milk bath and body butter, for $55
LOVE YOU contains all three items, for $70
And each is presented in a gorgeous black windowed box, tied with a silk ribbon.  A stunning presentation!

Everything is now available in Handmade on Main and on the website- https://handmadeonmainboerne.com/collections/from-scratch-farm

But in addition to that announcement, let’s talk other Valentine’s Day details!

💗 DAY TIME ACTIVITIES AND DATE NIGHT IDEAS

I took a poll in my Instagram stories and on my personal Facebook page.  And people’s plans are definitely ideas that you could use to plan your day or night.

“We’re getting a special Home Chef Valentine’s dinner.”
“We haven’t decided for this year.  But we’ve gone from multiple course dinner at Magnolia Pancake Haus to simple night at Mama Margie’s.”
“Staying home, sleeping, and then the next day buying all the now discounted chocolate and chocolate-covered strawberries… then having a lot of wine.”
“We’ve been going to IHOP on vday for the last 10 years to avoid the mess.  Lol.  Ample parking and no wait!  We do a nice dinner later in the month.”
“Probably just grilling steaks at home.  But our favorite date nights are Peggy’s and Dodging Duck.”
“We have gone to Maggiano’s the last few years.  They have a fabulous couple’s deal for $100, including wine and dessert.  They put you in a special room with only tables for two.  Love it!  This year we’ll probably do take-out from them.”

Having not dated in a decade, I haven’t had to deal with restaurants on Valentine’s Day in a long time.  I’m sure I’ll be picking up a few New York strips from Klein Smokehaus, for me to cook up that night.  Our favorite steaks (other than chicken fried)!

Dang Sassy has moved locations!  And they let me know that they’ll be having a Valentine’s Day themed grand re-opening on the 13th.

Mr. and Mrs. C. over at The Christmas Shoppe are working on giveaway goodies (with purchase) during the Valentine’s weekend.  But they’re not giving away any secrets yet.

Dog & Pony Grill let me know that they have a special menu planned for the 12th and 13th.  And there will be a Valentine’s brunch on the 14th!

Little Gretel will be serving up a 4-course dinner on the 13th.

Brent Michael Wood will be performing at Salvador Dobbs on the 13th.  And they’ll be serving up Sweet Tart Shots for $5!

If you want to get out and about, be outdoors, shop small and local…. I’ll be at The Pop-Up on the 14th!

Or need an activity or craft?  My friend Haeley, over at Design Improvised has SO many wonderful ideas that you can make yourself (or with your kiddos) now, to enjoy for the next few weeks.  Here’s the link straight to her Valentine’s Day crafts!  https://designimprovised.com/category/holidays-parties/valentines-day

💗 GALENTINE’S IDEAS

Again, I took a poll in my Instagram stories and on my personal Facebook page.  And we got more great ideas I wanted to share.

Salvador Dobbs sent over this yummy pic of their: Cosmopolitan, Deep Eddy cranberry with soda, and Red Snapper shot!

“Look up the recipe for pink punk cosmos.  Soooooo good!”

“Perfect cocktail would be cranberry and champagne!  I know it’s popular for Christmas, and is called Poinsettia, but I think it’s perfect for Galentine’s Day too!”

“Best Galentine drink: French 75.”

One of my favorites: Taste of Home’s Strawberry Watermelon Slush recipe PLUS your favorite alcohol!

And I have some fun Galentine’s Day events in my highlight reel.  My favorite was last year, an evening at The Good Kind.  With four friends.  Great weather.  A fire pit.  Charcuterie boards.  Fun conversation.  And lots of delicious drinks!  My instagram post: https://www.instagram.com/p/B8EpQ_ondpw/

💗 CHOCOLATE WALK

And you can’t forget Boerne’s sweetest event!  If you were one of the lucky ones to snag tickets, we’ll see you at the shop on the 13th!

If you weren’t able to get your hands on tickets, check out Boerne Visitor’s Center’s blog post for links to places that might still be giving away your pass to the event!!!

We’ll be giving out delicious Doubleside Toffee Company’s toffee again this year!
