I was approached by Shapeshifters a few months ago, with a sweet and enthusiastic e-mail. I quickly learned all about this new business in Boerne, could see that the owners had a passion for other small local businesses, and knew a great partnership was going to unfold.
The owners, Hank and Pamela Hattoy, stopped by my shop one day for a visit and sampling. And next thing I knew, I was sending them home with product and stopping by their building for a tour.
Now, I’m no stranger to their building. I actually walked through it three years ago, when I was looking for a new location for my two businesses. But back then, it was covered in heavy blinds or drapes (making it very dark) and ugly office carpeting (making it very unappealing).
But it certainly doesn’t look like that any more! The walls are a pretty grey/lavender with crisp white trim. All the carpeting is gone. The whole place is bright and airy. It’s revived, it’s refreshed, and it smells heavenly. I loved walking through (especially with their fun playlist, pumped through the speakers)!
There are several little different rooms dedicated to treasures that they’ve picked up from estate sales and furnishings that they’ve revived with paint and love. All colorful, vintage, unique, awesome finds!
A front room is filled with books that they’re letting customers borrow and return (or return other books of their own).
A back room is filled with arts and crafts supplies, where Pam is holding classes for really cool projects.
The kitchen has a wonderful spread of drinks and treats.
And the register area is filled with book shelves, covered in local homemade goodness. (that’s where I come in) Among some custom jewelry, homemade soaps, and hand-poured candles… sits our healing salves, body scrubs, vapor rubs, and warmer melts… all ready for purchase!
So if you just can’t get to my shop on Wednesday mornings or don’t want to order online, you have a fantastic new place in Boerne to snag our goodies!
